Dear companions and friends,

The brutal assassination of comrade Gauri Lankesh has brought in pain and anxieties. For 14 years she was central to the Karnataka Communal Harmony Forum and we cannot explain the loss we are facing. The main aim of her assassins were that we should get scared and stop our activities but on the other hand we are coming together in larger numbers and intensified our work against the violence of killing and terrorism and bring back peaceful co-existence. This was main objective of Gauri’s struggle and for this she gave her life and will continue her struggle as part of our lives too.

To show our resistance many struggles and movements of the marginalized have come together unified under a platform called “Forum for Resistance against Assassination of Gauri Lankesh”. Through this unity platform we want to bring pressure to the government to conduct a fair and immediate investigation in to the assassination and bring out the culprits into public and take a legal action against them. In this direction we are organizing a nationwide protest rally and convention on 12^th September 2017, Tuesday in Bangalore. We  have decided to call this campaign #IamGauriLankesh a campaign for condemning and resistance where we all say that we too are Gauri and Gauri cannot die.

Activists like Teesta Setalvad, Sitaram Yechuri, Jignesh Mevani, Kanhaiyya Kumar and many others are participating in this rally and convention.

This is a call for you all who have been supporting the Karnataka Communal Harmony Forum to come to Bangalore and participate in large numbers and also contribute to this event which is being organized in such a short time. It would be wonderful if you could join us all in the protest rally on 12^th September or mobilize in your organizations to send people to this rally. We also request you to kindly contribute as much as you all can for the success of this rally which is expecting more than 20,000 people from across the country and for this we need your support financially.
