India has among the worst maternal and child health indicators in the world. Within the country Rajasthan registers one of the highest rates of maternal and child deaths and malnutrition. While technical solutions to many of these problems are known, they face hurdles in getting implemented and subsequently scaled up. Antara Foundation in partnership with Tata Trusts and Government of Rajasthan launched an ambitious program ‘Akshada’, premised on employing management approaches to scale up known technical solutions. It has been launched in Jhalawar and Baran districts of south Rajasthan and will soon be scaled up to other parts of the state.
Fellows would work alongside Antara program officers at the block and village level and/ or at our office in Delhi. They will be assigned tasks based on program need and interests and skills.
The Fellows will join for a period of 12 months during which they will primarily work in the assigned intervention district with stints in expansion districts and Delhi. Their tasks will include:
- Program implementation & monitoring
- Data consolidation and analysis
- Knowledge management and documentation
Fellows would start out with one or more of the following projects:
Fellows will receive a competitive monthly stipend. They would have to submit a report upon which they will receive a certificate at the end of the program.
