Research Assistant for an ongoing ICT and Education @ IIMB

IIM Bangalore is looking for a Research Assistant for an ongoing ICT and Education project being implemented in 1000 rural schools spread over 18 districts in Karnataka.

This blended learning project involves live broadcast of lectures involving interactive multimedia content covering topics in Maths, Science and English for students of classes 6-10 with a provision for students to clarify doubts at the end of the sessions. The project has been going on since November 2014 and is being implemented under an agreement between the Department of State Educational Research and Training (DSERT), Government of Karnataka and a consortium led by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.


The RA is expected to support and assist a team of faculty members from IIIT Bangalore, IIM Bangalore and IIT Kanpur in conducting a research study which seeks to understand the changes being introduced in the learning processes as a part of introduction of this ICT (Information & Communication Technology)-based project. This will involve participating in joint/independent field work in identified schools in a few selected districts of Karnataka. 


We are now looking for a candidate with a masters degree in social science with interests in aspects related to ICTs and Education. Prior experience of qualitative research methods, esp. conducting, transcribing and coding interviews will be desirable. The RA will be employed for an initial period of 1 year at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore with a provision for extension for further 1 year. The compensation and working environment will be competitive and among the best in the country.
