Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K DISC) is a strategic think tank and advisory bodyconstituted by Government of Kerala. K DISC has initiated Manchadi “Teach Mathsfor Kerala” an innovative educational program in Kerala jointly with five local governments in the state and the general education department for improving theproficiency of maths education in the age group of 6- 12. The project aims at establishing Community Maths Labs in Thirunelli (Wayanad), Feroke (Kozhikode), Perinthalmanna (Malappuram), Chalavara (Palakkad) and Alappad (Kollam). The Community Math Labs is being established using Realistic Maths Education (RME) methods adopting a child centred approach of guided reinvention mentored by theteacher. Manchadi is on look out of animator with the following qualifications.The honorarium proposed can be enhanced in the case of deserving candidates with wider exposure and experience.
Qualification: First class MSc/MSW/MEd or equivalent with 3 years of teaching experience Or First class Graduation in Engineering/ Science/ Mathematics/ BEd. or equivalent with 5 years ofteaching experience.
Essential Attributes: Good written and spoken communication skills in Malayalam, IT skills in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation.
Desirable Attributes: Aptitude/experience in teaching Mathematics for young students (age group from 6 to 12), Training in orexperience with Wolfram Alpha or Mathematica or MATLAB, and GeoGebra etc., Proven experience in Dancing, Acting, Singing and Role Play.
Indicative Remuneration: Rs. 32500 per month.
