Azim Premji University announces admissions to its M.Ed. Programme (Master of Education) with specialisation in Elementary and Secondary Education. This NCTE approved two-year full-time professional programme is an excellent opportunity for school teachers, practitioners and fresh graduates of Education to expand their prospects in higher education and work. The programme is envisioned as a preparation of pre-service and in-service teacher educators who can also participate actively and work in various spheres of educational practice, theory and policy—as curriculum specialists, policy makers, administrators and researchers. Unique Learning Experience: The programme consists of Core Courses, Electives (Disciplinary areas and Advanced educational studies), Workshop courses and a compulsory dissertation. Students will have field engagement in all the Semesters. The programme focuses on: 1. Critical perspectives about education 2. Knowledge in the disciplines of Mathematics and Science 3. Sensitivity towards contexts of teaching and teacher education 4. Continuum of pre-service to in-service teacher education 5. Field practice in schools and teacher education institutions 6. ‘Hands on-Minds on’ workshops 7. Research related to teacher education Eminent Faculty Team: Members of our faculty are accomplished academicians, teacher educators, researchers, teachers and agents of social transformation. They have Masters and Doctoral degrees from leading Universities within India and abroad, coupled with significant research work. Many of them have worked on the ground, putting their knowledge to practical application. Eligibility: The eligibility criteria for the M. Ed. Programme (as per the NCTE norms) are as below I. The candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Sciences/ Mathematics/Engineering with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. II. The candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in any one of the following programmes: a) B.Ed. b) B.Sc.B.Ed. c) B.El.Ed. (with optional Mathematics / Science) d) D.El.Ed. with an Undergraduate Degree (with 50% marks in each) Relevant school teaching experience and/or a Master’s degree in Science/Mathematics will be an added advantage. Financial Aid Extensive need-based financial support is provided to students with financial constraints to pursue their education with us. Selection Process and Timeline We have done one round of entrance test and interviews on May 27th 2018. And now we have planned a second round of Admissions. The last date for applying is June 15th, 2018. Academic session will start in July 2018.
