Government of Odisha has launched a “Special Program for promotion of Millets in Tribal Areas of Odisha (Odisha Millets Mission)” in 11 districts of Odisha. Government of Odisha piloted the Millets in ICDS in 10 AWCs each in Nuapada and Gajapati Districts. This unique initiative received a great response from the adivasis. Based on the response, Government of Odisha is planning in a phased manner to go ahead with inclusion of millets in ICDS and MDM. At the same time, there is also a growing demand for millets in urban areas. Market potential of millets can be harnessed by increasing the awareness.
In this context, State Secretariat (NCDS &WASSAN) of Millet Mission is launching a Millet Summer Internship programme. This internship programme will be conducted both in rural and urban areas of Odisha.
– Baseline and awareness campaigns in rural areas for inclusion of millets in 11 tribal districts
– Urban internship programme which helps in increasing awareness among urban areas of Odisha through organising different kinds of events.
We request students/professionals/volunteers/others (School/Colleges/Universities) interested in the promotion of millets to apply for Summer Internship 2018 sending a write-up of 100 words mentioning why they should be selected for the internship and a one page CV. The applications may send to odmilletmission.ncds@gov.in with copy marked to specialprogrammemilletsodisha@gmail.com on or before30th April, 2018.
Internship will be conducted in multiple phases from May to August. Interested Applicants can choose preferred time for being part of the programme. Internship locations will be in districts of Bolangir, Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Kandhmal, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada Rayagada and Sundergarh. Urban internship will be conducted in Bhubaneswar. It may be expanded to Cuttack, Rourkela and Berhampur in later phases.
Only the shortlisted candidates will be empanelled for the internship. The institute / mission deserves all rights to reject any or all applications without showing the reason there off.
