We are very happy to invite you to attend and be a part of Samvada’s Public Seminar on Reimagining Youth-hood and Higher Education, to be held on the 9th of February, 2018, as part of the organisation’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.
As we all know, the field of education has been witnessing crises in various forms, all stemming from deep structural problems that many of us have been trying to think through in our different ways – privatisation, deep social inequality, colonial and anti-colonial regimes and how they shaped the field, market-driven decisions that young people are forced to make, and a foundational separation between any sense of self and academic programmes.
We send this invitation especially to you – educators, education administrators, activists, journalists, education entrepreneurs and social workers – because we hope to engage in a series of conversations that will take us further towards serious transformation in the field of education. This is what Samvada has been working for and struggling with these past 25 years, and we think this seminar is a fitting way to acknowledge and pay heed to histories of intervention and the challenges faced by students and learners in the Indian contemporary.
We very much hope you can join us at this event. The registration link is: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1cYWbnMmtqFo5mIWjFphg0D7A9oSFGZKvYHvH9sbehGs/edit
