Craftizen Foundation is a social venture and a not for profit which functions as the business acumen partner for the handicrafts sector. We build capacity of NGOs working in the handicrafts sector to help them scale their efforts in enabling sustainable livelihoods for Indian artisans. We are currently engaged with craft groups in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Orissa, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. http://www.craftizen.org
Our programs include:
1) “Patron program” for structured CSR funded initiatives in craft based livelihoods. We
are currently implementing projects in Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi and Varanasi
impacting 600 beneficiaries.
2) “Kalashala” a Finishing School for artisans and craft groups to equip them to be
market-ready. This initiative was supported with a social innovation grant from
Harvard University’s South Asia Institute and TATA Trusts
3) Customized Handcrafted Merchandise: we provide design and marketing support to
craftspersons by focusing on design development that enhances the functionality of
craft products
We currently have two open positions to be filled at the earliest:
I. Program Manager – Patron Program and Finishing School
Patron Program:
• Coordinating projects for craft based livelihoods
• Implementing project plan to achieve social impact outcomes
• Managing partner organizations and experts / consultants
• Documentation and accounts
Kalashala – Finishing School for Artisans:
• Coordinating roll out of Pilot workshops starting September 2016
• Planning for wider roll out of the program across states
• Managing Knowledge and Technical partners
• Coordinating marketing events and tying up with channel partners
• Social media engagement and promotion
• Documentation and accounts
Good communication skills, prior experience in program management and fluency in
Kannada are all prerequisites. The position is based in Bangalore and will involve travel to
project locations. Compensation will be based on profile and experience.
II. Merchandise Coordinator
• Coordination with artisan groups from across the country
• Vendor management for support services
• Maintaining databases, invoices and accounts
• Overall administrative functions
Prior experience in retail / sales / administrative functions will be useful. Must be fluent in
Hindi. The position is based in Bangalore and will involve local travel in and around the city.Compensation will be based on profile and experience. Flexible timings with work from home option can be accommodated.
